Since its inception, The Hotel Geneve has been a constant innovator in the Mexican tourist industry: It was the first hotel to admit unaccompanied single women who were given guaranteed lodging, special care and attention despite this practice not being considered appropriate for its time.
The Hotel Geneve was the first hotel in Mexico to offer taxi service, telephone switchboard operators, dry cleaning, a travel agency, elevators, as well as a tennis court and barber shop and a telephone and bathroom in every room, unheard of luxuries for the time. The hotel was the most modern and elegant for that period and its operations were modeled after the grand tradition of European hotels, an innovative system unknown to Mexico at the time.
